Welcome to the Official NTLTC Short Film website.
We hope that viewing our site will provide you with encouragement and information to help you in completion of your short film.
Please check the rules link above for details about LTC Short Film. Last year we had submissions that were primarily a combination of biblical narrative and modern day stories. We need to clarify that short films submitted for LTC do not have to provide a biblical narrative. They can be all about a modern day fictional story, or a documentary of a modern day event or event in recent history. Please note that we intend to make an exception to the "participants only" rule for documentaries. This will be relevant should you decide to make a documentary about, for example, adult missionaries and their work, or a mission trip in which adults were involved or ministered to. Animation may also be submitted (i.e., claymation, legomation). Further, adult assistance is acceptable, particularly with regard to the technical demands of film making and digital editing. This is new stuff to many of us, and there is a learning curve. On the other hand, many of the best submissions are completely student produced.
In all cases, submissions need to keep focused on the LTC theme. However, there is great latitude in how that theme may be presented. Be creative. We are all familiar with many stories; but if we tell the familiar stories with a different approach or fresh perspective, they will may capture and inspire a whole new audience.
The 2008 LTC Short Film Festival was held at the Saturn Road Church of Christ in Garland, Texas on Saturday, March 8, 2008.
We did not screen all submissions at the festival as we did last year. We only screened the semi-finalists, or the best of the submissions. We had an attendance of approximately 60-70 people, which is a vast improvement over the 2 visitors that found their way to the festival last year. We also saw a drastic improvement in the overall quality of the film submissions. Below is a list of the films that received special recognition in the form of a Shorty award.

About youtube.com . . . Parents should be advised that youtube.com posts many videos on a variety of topics, some of which would be inappropriate for viewing by children due to language or adult content. Parents are urged to view the LTC short films exhibited on youtube.com with their children. Also, you may note that films that the LTC films shown on youtube.com are separated into two parts. That is due to youtube.com's stipulation that videos posted not be longer than 10 minutes. Godtube.com allows longer videos, but no more than 100MB in size. That means a lot of digital compressing must be done, and not everyone has software with that capability.
In other news, the LTC Short Film staff is considering offering a scholarship to one LTC participant each year. This would be someone who developed and executed an entire short film project with minimal or no adult assistance, and whose film was chosen as a semi-finalist for the NTLTC Film Festival. If you know of individuals or businesses who would be interested in partially subsidizing or making a one-time contribution to this scholarship fund, please contact me.
